March 1, 2009 - More and more people are exploring the possibility of purchasing Costa Rica real estate after their retirement. While there are many reasons to choose Costa Rica as your home after retirement, there are a few reasons that are more important than others.

Costa Rica Real Estate RetirementCosta Rica Real Estate: Unlike other countries, you do not have to be a Costa Rican citizen in order to own Costa Rica real estate. Property taxes are much lower than in the United States, and properties show good appreciation. Costa Rica real estate is a great investment!

Cost of Living/Taxes: Costa Rica offers quite a bang for your buck! Almost everything from food to utilities will cost a fraction of its American counterpart. In fact, having a maid is commonplace! Plus, Costa Rica is a tax haven for Americans, who do not pay any income taxes on their social security income.

Climate: With beaches on both coasts and beautiful mountains in between, your ideal climate can be found in Costa Rica. If you prefer warmer temperatures, then the check out the Costa Rica oceanfront real estate. If you prefer cooler temperatures (70?s), then look for Costa Rica property for sale near the capital, San Jose.

There are two ?seasons? in Costa Rica, summer and the rainy season. But don?t let the name fool you; during the rainy season, the temperature stays around the 60?s and 70?s, and is usually rains for only a few hours during the afternoon.

Cultural Transition: Even if you do not speak Spanish, it?s a very easy transition from living in the United States to living in Costa Rica. Not only are there many people from the states living in Costa Rica, but a good portion of the locals speak English as well.

Costa Rica is only a few hours away from the US mainland by flight, and their Central Time Zone will leave little to no difference in daily habits. You will still have most of your favorite television stations, including the major networks plus CNN and Fox News.

Not only is Costa Rica real estate a great investment, but it?s also a great place to live. With a low cost of living, great climate, and an easy transition to a normal way of life, it?s no wonder the Costa Rica is on the top of everyone?s list after retirement!
